  • The Hong Kong actress and model has an impeccable sense of fashion, especially when it comes to her massive handbag collection, where she owns a mix of trendy and unique pieces
  • She paired the popular quilted leather Dior shoulder bag with streetwear, rocked a Miu Miu satin embellished handbag for extra glam – and donned Alexander McQueen with its signature knuckle-duster clasp

As most people have switched to enjoying their favourite TV shows and films on streaming platforms over the past decade, the heyday for live TV broadcasts seems to have come and gone.

Still, there’s no denying the immense impact TV entertainers can have on the audience. And it’s not only those who appear in dramas or variety shows – many of Hong Kong’s famous faces first found fame through appearances on TV commercials. Among the most notable are Ekin Cheng and Cecilia Cheung, who separately appeared in TV commercials for a packaged beverage brand.

Model and actress Karena Ng is among those who got her big break from a TV ad. Following her performance in a 2011 ad for tissue paper, she slowly built up her career and appeared in a number of films, including a role in Ip Man 3 in 2015 that earned her a nomination for best newcomer at the 31st Hong Kong Film Awards.

In a decade, Ng has established a substantial following in both Hong Kong and mainland China. Most recently, she appeared in the Hong Kong film Sunshine of My Life, playing a daughter of a visually impaired mother.

Aside from her film roles, she’s known for her sweet demeanour and love for fashion, most notably her massive handbag collection – did we mention Hermès? However, she recently experienced backlash from fans on Xiaohongshu, China’s answer to Instagram, when she showed off a less pricey luxury bag, as fans accused her of promoting items she personally wouldn’t buy or use.

A closer look through her Instagram posts though reveals Ng doesn’t always gravitate towards “It” bags and is quite adventurous with her choices.

She frequently shares her outfits of the day and styling insights with her close to 300,000 followers on Instagram. Over the summer, she enjoyed a bit of sun and sea and brought a pink and white chequered Prada beach tote with her.
