Meet Derrick Milano, the Grammy-winning hitmaker behind Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion – and he just got engaged to model and TV star Blac Chyna

He’s written hits for big stars like Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion. He also happens to be engaged to Blac Chyna, the American model, rapper and reality TV personality. But most of us have probably never heard of Derrick Milano.
That’s just his stage name though. The multitalented musician, who now works in A&R at independent record group APG, was born Derrick Carrington Gray in 1993. Here’s what to know about the singer-songwriter.
He’s a Grammy winner

According to his Instagram profile, Milano is a five-time Grammy winner. His first Grammy was for his collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion on 2021’s “Savage Remix”, which won Best Rap Song. He also won a Grammy Album of the Year nomination for Beyoncé’s Renaissance in 2023.
The same year, Milano was also named among Billboard’s Future 50 next-generation artists, creatives and executives in the category of R&B and hip-hop.
He’s engaged to Blac Chyna
In September 2023, it was revealed that Blac Chyna – who had previously dated Tyga, Playboi Carti and Rob Kardashian – had a new man in her life: Milano. The hitmaker posted a sweet candid of himself and Chyna on Instagram with the heartfelt message: “It hits different when you find your best friend and lover at the same time.”
Just over a year later, Milano popped the question on stage at a Howard University homecoming event, per People. Chyna smiled and said yes.
