Talula, 22, shares a close bond with her dad – aka Derek ‘McDreamy’ Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy – who said he took on his role in 2007’s Enchanted for her and ‘can’t stop eating’ her delicious treats

Talula’s Kitchen is a paradise of an Instagram page for those with a sweet tooth – all candied lemon slices, moist red velvet cakes, pillowy croissants and glistening dollops of cream on tarts.

This delectable feed belongs to Talula Fyfe Dempsey, the 22-year-old daughter of Patrick Dempsey – aka Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd from the cult classic medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.

So who is Talula Dempsey, and what do we know about her journey to becoming a pastry chef?

She has a close bond with her father

Born in 2002, Talula is also the daughter of celebrity hair stylist and make-up artist Jillian Fink, who met Dempsey at his hair appointment at her LA salon. Talula is also the older sister of 17-year-old twins Darby and Sullivan.

From an early age, Talula accompanied her father on set, including during the filming of Enchanted, a contemporary Cinderella story starring Amy Adams. In a 2007 interview with Redbook magazine, the actor revealed that his decision to take on the role was partly inspired by his daughter.

“I wanted to do something that kids can go see, and is fun for adults as well,” he shared. “My daughter went to the set, and to this day she says, ‘When is the princess coming back?’ because there’s a big ballroom scene in the movie, and she spent hours watching her father work and be surrounded by princes and princesses. What a great gift to give her that.”

Growing up, Talula also bonded with her father over his passion for cars, especially his two-seater Porsche. “My daughter Talula loves me to drive to school in this. She gets to sit next to me. We talk about all kinds of things. We listen to the news and discuss it,” he told Parade magazine in 2008.
