Beach season is drawing to a close – but you can always revisit the sun-soaked days of summer with that iconic 90s TV series, Baywatch. The show first aired from 1989 to 1999, and revolved around the personal dramas and daily adventures of a team of Los Angeles beach lifeguards.
Ever wondered what became of those toned and tanned stars who captivated us? A new four-part docuseries, ABC News Studios’ After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, has the answers and just dropped on Hulu. An inside look at the cultural impact of Baywatch, the series features interviews with over 35 cast members as well as exclusive footage shot by the cast themselves.
Now, 35 years after the show first debuted, what happened to those sun-kissed stars?
1. David Hasselhoff, 72
As Mitch Buchannon, David Hasselhoff’s bright red swim trunks and chiselled abs made him the ultimate Baywatch heartthrob. Following his stint on the show, the actor appeared in films such as the 2006 Adam Sandler vehicle Click and the 2011 fantasy comedy Hop. But he’s also taken his talents to the stage, making his Broadway debut in the musical Jekyll & Hyde in 2000, and later starring in Chicago and The Producers.
Hasselhoff is also a musician, having released 15 studio albums in the rock genre since 1985. His latest album, Party Your Hasselhoff, was released in September 2021. In December 2020 he delivered his first heavy metal song, “Through The Night”.
