Cake-lovers now have one more name to add to their list of must-try shops with the launch of Royal Delights, a new premium pastry brand run by Royal Hotels Hong Kong that has just opened its first bricks-and-mortar shop on the first floor of Mikiki Mall in San Po Kong.

First-time customers should not miss the signature Alice in the Wonderland-themed pastry series. Taking inspiration from the renowned children’s novel, the series represents the brand’s effort in brightening up the busy life of city-goers by offering cakes and pastries that are stunning in terms of both look and taste.

The Alice in the Wonderland – Lemon Blueberry Chocolate Log Cake, for instance, is a delicious Sachertorte disguised as a tree trunk. Shiitake mushroom and meadow made out of meringue and pistachio cake adds wonder to the cake, bringing the iconic scene of Alice falling into the rabbit hole to life. Other Alice in the Wonderland-themed creations that are equally awe-inspiring include The Playing Cards, The Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter Pocket Watch and Cheshire Cat.

But the offerings of Royal Delights do not stop here. The Sweet Surprise Series is another feature series from the brand boasting four realistic cakes, each of them resembling the look of a comfort food. Experience the fun yourself with Sweet Surprise – Ramen where strands of noodles are swimming in a bowl of dashi broth. Can it be a cake? You can only tell when you cut it open. Cakes such as Sausage Abalone Rice, Longevity Noodles and Chocolate Waffle are other deceptive concoctions from the series that are bound to keep your occasion filled with fun.

If you’re vegan or just looking for lighter sweets, Royal Delights also has something to offer to you. The No Added Sugar Strawberry Mille Feuille in the Healthy Series uses sugar-free chocolate and monk fruit sweetener in place of refined sugar. The Vegan Raspberry Chocolate Tart, in the same vein, eliminates the use of dairy and egg and is gluten-free. Keeping the needs of the health-conscious crowd in mind, a petite version is available for most items in this series to cater to different appetites as well.
