Energy demand in Asia-Pacific is expected to double by 2030, and players in the renewable energy sector are bracing to compete. More than responding to the increasing demand, solar power plant developer nv vogt aims to provide electricity to underserved areas while ensuring the sustainable supply of resources. It is focused on managing its three solar plants in the Philippines, and is eagle-eyed on expanding its presence in Bangladesh, Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia.
Working with ethical electricity distribution organisations and partners, nv vogt lowers generation costs by introducing solar energy to distributors’ daytime peaking load mix. It signed the Philippines’ first bilateral solar power purchase agreement with the South Cotabato Electric Cooperative in Mindanao, and is looking to seal power purchase agreements in Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Serving 10,000 households that reach around 50,000 people in the country, nv vogt is actively involved in the communities where its plants are located, helping schools and local institutions. “A significant percentage of the households we serve are rural. This gives us great satisfaction,” says Vivek Chaudhri, director of nv vogt Philippines.
