Inger Andersen
Inger Andersen is undersecretary general of the United Nations and executive director of the UN Environment Programme, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. Between 2015 and 2019, Ms Andersen was director general of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). She obtained a bachelor's degree from the London Metropolitan University North and a masters in development economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

The creation of a major new initiative by three UN agencies will close the gaps in data undermining our understanding of the climate and extreme weather. The initiative will enable the world’s most vulnerable communities to get ahead of the curve and build resilience.
