New for 2010, Honda has given one of Hong Kong's most popular seven-seaters a sharp new facelift - and made some clever updates to the Odyssey's interior and reworked some key mechanicals.

Described by Honda as its flagship luxury seven-seat sedan, the Odyssey sports new 17-inch alloys, a full body kit, HID headlights and an eye-catching chrome grille.

Although it's debatable whether the Odyssey is a true seven-seater (the small single central seat is best suited for occasional use), Honda has taken pains to address some of the limitations of the outgoing model forced by a low roofline and narrower track of their wagon-sized SUV.

The new Odyssey has been extended by some 6cm externally, which translates into 4cm more space throughout the cabin. The rearmost passengers get an extra 2cm of knee room and 3cm more space for feet - a welcome addition, and one where it was needed most of all.

Honda has also dropped the ride height of the new model by a few millimetres and widened the rear doors to improve access for rear-seat passengers. The third row of seats also folds flat to the floor at the touch of a button (in under 10 seconds) to create a practical load space, while the central second row seat folds down to create a large armrest.

Just as with the outgoing model, Honda is keen to bill the new Odyssey as a top-tier luxury ride.
